Film/Video/Music and Art Festivals coming to Miami.

The New York International Independent Film/Video/Music and Art Festival kick off 2004 in style by launching a four-day event in Coconut Grove beginning Thursday, Feb. 5, and countinuing through Sunday, Feb. 8.

Opening Night Party on Feb. 5 wil take place at the Artist in Residence Gallery, CocoWalk, 3015 Grand Ave. in Coconut Grove.
 

Local artist and others from around the country will be showing their best paintings and sculptures on opening night. The Following three days, filmakers, singers and bands will be showcasing their talents in front of influential members from all sectors of the film and music industry.

A diverse range of the latest features, shorts, documentaries and animations from around the world will be shown. The music and film festival events will run concurrently at the AMC Theatres Cocowalk 16, with the Art Festival running on opening night only. All screenings will take place from noon to midnight every day.

Some of the Film Festival highlights include:

Sobreviviente (drama). Life is a mystery that Tonatiuh tries to understand through his video camera. In a lonely trip he meets Adela. The great love he feels for her becomes his reason for living. But an unwanted pregnancy makes them break the ties that united them. For Tonaituh the rupture with Adela means going back to the loss of the ones he loves.
