SURVIVOR is a full-lenght movie developed in digital format. As a peculiarity, it had been produced by a team of filming students from the CCC (Cinematographic Training Center) and the CUEC (Universitary Center Of Cinematographic Studies), directed by Jesús Magaña (Screenwriter, Director, Editor and Postproducer of the project). SURVIVOR was also supported by CONACULTA – FONCA (National Culture And Arts Council – National Culture And Arts Fund) by distinguishig the director with the Beca de Jóvenes Creadores (Young Developers Scholarship) 2000-2001. With this project Jesús Magaña and Lauracarmen (Photographer of the movie) founded the production company SOBREVIVIENTES FILMS.
SURVIVOR takes place in an urban environment, it also counts with locations in the coast of Oaxaca and the Zempoala lagoon. It’s a color and B&W movie shot in Mini-DV and Hi-8 digital formats.
The cast is an interesting mixture of theater actors with movie actors that have been part of the recent mexican movie hits. |
